SingleTone: edit a set of photos so they all match
A free photo editor that runs in your browser. Drop up to 10 photos or videos and SingleTone fixes the lighting, matches the colours and gives all of them one look, from natural to film. Nothing is uploaded.
How it works: from your phone and back again
Send from your phone. Scan the QR code on the computer and pick photos on your phone. They arrive encrypted, straight from one device to the other, ready to edit. Nothing is uploaded.
Relit and matched for you. As they arrive, every photo is relit and the set is matched to one tone, so a dark shot and a bright one already belong together. Pick a photo to match toward if you like.
Choose a look, then adjust. One look for every photo, from natural to film (18 of them), with its strength. Then adjust all the photos together or any one on its own.
Lay out Stories. Put the photos, and videos, into one or several 9:16 Instagram Stories: eleven layouts, drag one into a slot, pinch to zoom. A Story with a video becomes an MP4.
Export at full quality. Full-resolution JPEG or PNG, with Display P3 colour and camera info kept, and HDR for Ultra HDR photos.
Back to your phone. Send the finished photos or the Story to your phone through the same link, and save them to your gallery.
What you can do
18 looks with character. Natural, Vivid, Bright & Airy, Sunset Glow, Golden Hour, Soft Focus, Film Warm, Film Cool, Matte Cool, Retro, Cinematic, Low Exposure, Dramatic, Flash, Disposable, Y2K Digicam, Noir and B&W: each with its own colour, grain and light, and a strength slider.
Flash looks, with or without AI. Flash, Disposable and Y2K Digicam work on any photo at once: the flash lights the whole frame evenly, with clean flash-white surfaces, crisp texture and the dark falling away. With a small optional AI model they light just the person and let the room behind fall into the dark.
One-click Fix lighting. Reads each photo and sets exposure, shadows, highlights, whites and blacks.
Match photos to each other. Brings the colour cast, brightness and tone of a set together, and Recolour turns the colours the photos share (skies, foliage, warm light) to one hue without touching brightness or skin, so a series looks like one.
The whole set at a glance. Every photo in a grid that fills the screen, each at its own shape, with its colours under it. Open any one large, set two side by side, hold Space to flip between them, or go full screen to compare in detail.
Instagram Stories. Spread the set over as many Stories as you like, each with its own layout and style: eleven layouts, choose which photos go where (a photo can be in several), frame each one, then export 1080×1920 or 2160×3840 with Display P3 colour, share them or send them to your phone.
Videos too, with the same look. Add a video beside the photos and it gets the same look, lighting fix and colour match, frame by frame. Trim it, keep or drop its sound, put it in a Story slot between photos (the Story becomes an MP4), and export it as an MP4 with its sound as recorded.
Fine control, for all or one. Exposure, contrast, highlights, shadows, whites, blacks, temperature, tint, vibrance, saturation, fade, grain and vignette, for every photo at once or for one photo on its own.
iPhone photos (HEIC). Opens HEIC in any browser, no conversion first.
Send photos from your phone. Scan a QR code to send photos from a phone to the computer, then send the edited ones back and save them on the phone.
Quality kept. Full-resolution export in JPEG or PNG, Display P3 colour and EXIF kept, and HDR kept for Ultra HDR JPEGs.
Projects that wait for you. Every set is saved by itself as a project in your browser, so a reload or tomorrow picks up where you left off. Switch between projects from the top left.
Private by design. Editing, the AI that finds the subject and the export all run on your device. Nothing is ever uploaded: projects stay in your browser, and photos sent from your phone go straight between your two devices.
Questions
Is SingleTone free?
Yes. SingleTone is free to use, and supporting it is optional.
Are my photos uploaded?
No. Nothing is ever uploaded: editing and export happen in your browser, and your projects are saved in this browser on your device, not on a server. Even Send photos from phone goes directly from the phone to the computer, encrypted, and no SingleTone server ever receives a photo.
Does it work with iPhone HEIC and HDR photos?
HEIC opens in any browser and Display P3 colour is kept. HDR is kept for Ultra HDR JPEGs; HDR in iPhone HEIC files is exported as standard (SDR).
Can I edit videos?
Yes, alongside the photos: up to 10 photos and videos in a set. A video gets the same look and colour match as the photos, can be trimmed and muted, can go into a Story, and exports as an MP4 (H.264) with its sound kept as recorded. iPhone HDR video comes out as standard range (SDR). Videos need a browser that can decode them: Safari, or Chrome or Edge on a recent Mac or PC for iPhone (HEVC) video.
How much space does it use?
Projects keep their original files in your browser, so videos take room. The Projects list shows how much SingleTone keeps in this browser and what it is (videos, photos, the subject model, the app itself), and deleting a project frees its files.
Which browsers does it need?
A current Safari, Chrome, Edge or Firefox with WebGL2. It can be installed as an app on a phone or computer. Videos need WebCodecs: a current Safari, Chrome or Edge.
