SingleTone: edit a set of photos so they all match
A free photo editor that runs in your browser. Drop up to 10 photos and SingleTone fixes the lighting, matches the colours and gives all of them one natural look. Nothing is uploaded.
How it works: from your phone and back again
Send from your phone. Scan the QR code on the computer and pick photos on your phone. They arrive encrypted, straight from one device to the other, ready to edit. Nothing is uploaded.
Relit and matched for you. As they arrive, every photo is relit and the set is matched to one tone, so a dark shot and a bright one already belong together. Pick a photo to match toward if you like.
Choose a look, then adjust. One look for every photo, from natural to film (18 of them), with its strength. Then adjust all the photos together or any one on its own.
Lay out Stories. Put the photos into one or several 9:16 Instagram Stories: eleven layouts, drag a photo into a slot, pinch to zoom.
Export at full quality. Full-resolution JPEG or PNG, with Display P3 colour and camera info kept, and HDR for Ultra HDR photos.
Back to your phone. Send the finished photos or the Story to your phone through the same link, and save them to your gallery.
What you can do
18 natural looks. Natural, Vivid, Bright & Airy, Sunset Glow, Golden Hour, Soft Focus, Film Warm, Film Cool, Matte Cool, Retro, Cinematic, Low Exposure, Dramatic, Flash, Disposable, Y2K Digicam, Noir and B&W, each with a strength slider.
Flash looks that follow the subject. Flash, Disposable and Y2K Digicam light the person in the photo and let the room fall away, with sharper texture on the lit surface.
One-click Fix lighting. Reads each photo and sets exposure, shadows, highlights, whites and blacks.
Match photos to each other. Brings the colour cast, brightness and tone of a set together, and Recolour turns the colours the photos share (skies, foliage, warm light) to one hue without touching brightness or skin, so a series looks like one.
The whole set at a glance. Every photo in a grid that fills the screen, each at its own shape, with its colours under it. Open any one large, set two side by side, hold Space to flip between them, or go full screen to compare in detail.
Instagram Stories. Spread the set over as many Stories as you like, each with its own layout and style: eleven layouts, choose which photos go where (a photo can be in several), frame each one, then export 1080×1920 or 2160×3840 with Display P3 colour, share them or send them to your phone.
Fine control, for all or one. Exposure, contrast, highlights, shadows, whites, blacks, temperature, tint, vibrance, saturation, fade, grain and vignette, for every photo at once or for one photo on its own.
iPhone photos (HEIC). Opens HEIC in any browser, no conversion first.
Send photos from your phone. Scan a QR code to send photos from a phone to the computer, then send the edited ones back and save them on the phone.
Quality kept. Full-resolution export in JPEG or PNG, Display P3 colour and EXIF kept, and HDR kept for Ultra HDR JPEGs.
Projects that wait for you. Every set is saved by itself as a project in your browser, so a reload or tomorrow picks up where you left off. Switch between projects from the top left.
Private by design. Editing, the AI that finds the subject and the export all run on your device. Nothing is ever uploaded: projects stay in your browser, and photos sent from your phone go straight between your two devices.
Questions
Is SingleTone free?
Yes. SingleTone is free to use, and supporting it is optional.
Are my photos uploaded?
No. Nothing is ever uploaded: editing and export happen in your browser, and your projects are saved in this browser on your device, not on a server. Even Send photos from phone goes directly from the phone to the computer, encrypted, and no SingleTone server ever receives a photo.
Does it work with iPhone HEIC and HDR photos?
HEIC opens in any browser and Display P3 colour is kept. HDR is kept for Ultra HDR JPEGs; HDR in iPhone HEIC files is exported as standard (SDR).
Which browsers does it need?
A current Safari, Chrome, Edge or Firefox with WebGL2. It can be installed as an app on a phone or computer.
